Frequently Asked Questions

It’s easy, we do it all for you. All you have to do is select your new energy plan, then fill in your details on our web page, and we will send them to your new energy provider to create your new account, and they notify your current provider of your cancellation. They will work it out between themselves so that you will not experience any interruption to your service.

It will only take you a few minutes to complete the ‘paperwork’ online. You enter your details here and we automatically send them to your new provider to create your account and also to your current energy retailer to cancel your existing account. They will then usually process the paperwork in under 24 hours. But the actual switchover won’t proceed until after your current retailer has done a final meter reading, so they can issue a final bill. Energy retailers read meters about every 3 months, so at most, it will take that long to switch to your new retailer.

No, they definitely don’t have to change any wiring or meters. The electricity is actually delivered to your house by an electricity distributor, who is responsible for the maintenance of the electricity grid in your area. All of the electricity providers from whom you can choose plans, supply the electricity through the same distributor. When you switch electricity providers, all that really happens is that the name of the company on your electricity bills and the charges for your electricity change.

You must buy electricity from an electricity retailer (provider). You can’t buy directly from an electricity distributor.

There will not be any interruption to your supply of electricity or gas. This is because they will continue to be supplied by the same energy distributor. All that really changes is the name of the energy retailer that issues your energy bills.

Yes. It’s free to you. We get paid a commission by your new gas and electricity provider. While our service is provided to you without charge, you should check with your current supplier(s) about whether any exit fees apply.
